The Sad Case of Dustin Lance Black

Dustin Lance Black won an Academy Award last night for writing "Milk", the story of Harvey Milk, the first openly homosexual man to be elected to major public office in America. In his acceptance speech, Black told of moving to California when he was 13 years old and hearing the story of Harvey Milk. It gave him hope, it gave him hope, it gave him hope, as he repeated three times. It is so painfully sad that he looked to a practicing homosexual for his hope and not to Jesus Christ! It is true what Black said about all the gay and lesbians being beautiful, wonderful creatures of value, and that God loves them, but what he failed to recognize is that GOD WANTS THEM TO REPENT of their abominable acts!

Homosexuality is an action; it is not a person! All people are born with sinful natures. We all struggle with our individual sins. Some people may be born with a strong sexual, even if heterosexual, desire that leads them to promiscuity or adultery or even rape. Can a rapist be forgiven by the law because "he was born that way"? Some people may be born with kleptomania, a strong desire to take things. If that person steals, is he to be forgiven by the law because "he was born that way"? Why on earth do we think the sin of homosexuality is any different? It IS a sin; there is no denying it. God called it an abomination! But some people prefer to remain in their lustful acts, but it doesn't really bring the peace they long for. Instinctively, they know it's not right. Where do these instincts come from? They are from God, so they have to tell themselves it is okay with God because "He made them that way". They have to change laws so perhaps the law doesn't make them feel bad. They are constantly trying to feel better about themselves, to have peace about who they are, to have joy, but sadly, they will never find it this way. And in the meanwhile, they are setting themselves up as examples to others, and are leading them the wrong way.

And Hollywood cheers! Hollywood awards and promotes sin. "Judge not, lest ye be judged" is their motto taken out of context. If they don't judge sin, maybe no one will judge theirs. Notice how every year the Academy awards some sin? Homosexuality, sexual depravity, violence, a "right to die". As if Hollywood actors should be our role models? How many of them seem truly happy and fulfilled as they flit from one affair to another searching for something, but knowing not what?

Hollywood cheers and mainstream America is apathetic. Lukewarm, God calls it, and He HATES lukewarm people. God gave us the warning to use Sodom and Gomorrah as an example and not to go their way, but we choose to ignore it. We actively CHOOSE to ignore; we instinctively know better, but it's easier if we pretend we don't. Pretending or choosing not to believe God won't change the outcome.

"Abort Obama Not the Unborn"

Fascinating life news lately. We have the president himself saying, and I quote, "There is no God who condones taking the life of an innocent human being." And yesterday was the news of policemen in Oklahoma confiscating a man's anti-abortion bumper sticker and even calling the Secret Service and having him investigated because they perceived his "Abort Obama Not the Unborn" bumper sticker as a threat to Obama. Obviously, the sticker owner meant to "terminate Obama's presidency"; he wasn't advocating terminating the president's life! I find it interesting that movies can be made about assassinating a sitting president, as in the case of George W. Bush, but an anti-abortion bumper sticker calling out the pro-abortion president is a threat! But I digress. The real point of this paragraph was to note that we live in a country where the president states that God does not condone taking the life of an innocent human being, and where law enforcement officers define abortion as murder, but we choose to turn a blind eye to abortion of innocent babies anyway. That is the real danger of a prideful and haughty nation - one that absolutely knows the evil that it is doing and does it anyway with no regard for the word of its God.

These...things the LORD hates...(and) are an abomination to Him: a proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood... Proverbs 6:16-17

They even sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons, and shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan; and the land was polluted with blood. Therefore the wrath of the LORD was kindled against His people, so that He abhorred His own inheritance. Psalm 106:37-38, 40

...keep all these commandments and do them, which I command you today, to love the LORD your God and to walk always in His ways...lest innocent blood be shed in the midst of your land...and thus guilt of bloodshed be upon you. Deuteronomy 19:9-10

Power to the People!

I'm re-energized by good news the past couple of days. Oh, definitely not any news from the mainstream media or any Obama or government news is any good, but good news of people rising up to take a stand either because of or in spite of strong opposition. As much as I enjoy and agree with Rush and Hannity, the news can get very depressing. There just seems to be no stopping the destruction. I have come to have a greater appreciation for the people who discuss the issues from a Biblical perspective, like Janet Parshall's America, the Scott Wilder Show (Dallas area), and the Laura Ingraham Show. These are more uplifting when you can see the light and not just the darkness all the time. We must remember that in Biblical times when God brought His judgment and wrath on His people, it was always about turning His people back to Him. And that is what is happening. It may be too late to save this country from its hell-bent nose-dive, but many people will begin to look to God for answers when their Obama fails them. Many people will start listening to the truth. Not all, sadly. We know there will continue to be a falling away from the Word in these times, but many people will turn.

In Laura Ingraham's Power to the People segment a couple of days ago, she highlighted a young woman in very liberal Washington who finally couldn't take it anymore, and even though she couldn't actually "do" anything about this horrible spendulous bill that just went through, she could voice her opposition and perhaps enlighten others. She's another Blogger, Liberty Belle, and the title of her blog, states her mission: Redistributing Knowledge. And lots of people came out, and perhaps lots more saw messages that may give them pause for thought:

Liberty Belle became energized meeting other like-minded people and getting her message out. Laura reminded us that the liberals really do want us to become demoralized. Their favorite tactic is brow-beating into submission. Unity and bi-partisanship always means go to their side only. Why can't we all just compromise and unify behind LIFE? Compromise never works between a moral and immoral people, between good and evil, between right and wrong; it just means compromising values away. We should never become demoralized; after all, we're right! Whether our country as a whole agrees or not, we should never compromise our own values or be afraid to stand for Godly principles.

Then there is this gem of a child who stood up for what she believed in and gave her speech even though her teacher told her it would disqualify her from a competition:

CHILLING Legislation Hiding in the So-Called "Stimulus" Bill

Betsy McCaughey at Bloomberg has actually been reading the stimulus bill! readthestimulus.org says it is 1588 pages! And with Obama out there trying to convince us we are headed for the 1930's depression if we don't act quickly passing this 1588 page bill, it would be easy to sneak in legislation unnoticed. Like a new bureaucracy, the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, that will monitor treatments to make sure your doctor is doing what the federal government deems appropriate and cost effective. The goal is to reduce costs and “guide” your doctor’s decisions applying a cost-effectiveness standard set by the Federal Council. Ms. McCaughey tells us The Federal Council is modeled after a U.K. board discussed in a 2008 book by Tom Daschle, “Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis”. This board approves or rejects treatments using a formula that divides the cost of the treatment by the number of years the patient is likely to benefit. Treatments for younger patients are more often approved than treatments for diseases for the elderly. Daschle says health-care reform “will not be pain free”. Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them.

Chilling language reminiscent of the Hitler era! Very interesting to note how it was prophesied by Francis Schaeffer 35 years ago when he warned about the consequences of legalizing abortion. He said that devaluing human life prior to birth would quickly usher in the legalization of assisted suicide and euthanasia which is the devaluation of life at the end of life. We've seen the assisted suicides; we've even seen euthanasia of sorts as in the case of Terri Schiavo, when she was denied food and water against the will of her parents. Now the almighty government, that so many Obama followers wished would supply their free health-care, will deny treatment to those individuals it deems less productive. Many would scoff at the idea that this could happen in our country. They would be foolish!

Ms. McCaughey also tells us that hiding health legislation in a stimulus bill is intentional. Daschle supported the Clinton administration’s health-care overhaul in 1994, and attributed its failure to debate and delay. A year ago, Daschle wrote that the next president should act quickly before critics mount an opposition. “If that means attaching a health-care plan to the federal budget, so be it,” he said. “The issue is too important to be stalled by Senate protocol.”

STOP THE PRESSES! Obama Says No God Condones the Taking of Innocent Life!

The One has spoken!! That should end the abortion debate, right?

It's absolutely amazing how he can say the things he says with a straight face, but I guess what is more mystifying is that people can actually listen to it and accept it. It blows my mind! According to the linked AP report, Obama also told the National Prayer Breakfast that faith too often has been used "as a tool to divide us from one another", along with the classic line, "There is no God who condones taking the life of an innocent human being." Amazing!

Also interesting to note that Obama acknowledges the existence of multiple gods? Like the gods of lust and selfishness and convenience to whom aborted babies are sacrificed?
