Is There Any Truly Thinking Person Left Who Thinks Obama is Doing Anything GOOD?

Today there is a very good article by Alan Keyes: A Better-Dressed Soviet-Style Communism

What amazes me is that even the liberal mainstream media can't make Obama's plans sound good anymore to any person with a grain of common sense. Here is the very liberal Yahoo trying to tell us about his health care plans today:

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama is seeking to help pay for his health care plan by sharply reducing the government's medical spending, mainly by trimming payments to prescription drugmakers, hospitals and other care providers.

It sounds like he is cutting Medicare and current paid prescription plans to me. Makes sense - cut health care to the elderly and disabled to give more and better health care for all! What other health care does the government pay? Wait a minute, maybe he will actually stop health care payments to illegal aliens!! No, I doubt that!

His ambitions are thick but the details thin; the president and his aides said specific ways for achieving the cuts will be decided later. The negotiations could trigger fierce political battles between powerful industries trying to protect their profits.

Oh, we can certainly trust Obama and his most ethical transparent administration to decide LATER how to best achieve the cuts!

Overhauling the nation's health care system is one of Obama's biggest ambitions, and lawmakers are working on a variety of plans. A top goal is to reduce costs in the government's largest medical programs, Medicare and Medicaid, which cover millions of elderly and low-income Americans and involve thousands of doctors, hospitals, nursing homes and other institutions.

So he will reduce payments to Medicare and Medicaid to reduce the costs! Sounds like a great plan! Less money to health care providers will surely mean better treatment! Anyone can see that!

In his weekly Internet and radio address Saturday, Obama proposed cutting $313 billion from the programs over 10 years. That's in addition to the $635 billion "down payment" in tax increases and spending cuts in the health care system that he announced earlier.

Together, Obama's plans would provide $948 billion over a decade in savings and/or tax increases to help cover the millions of Americans who lack medical insurance and to slow the rate of soaring health care costs.

Only Obama can say "savings and/or tax increases" with a straight face and expect people to see it as a good thing! And sadly, maybe some sheeple still do.

The status quo is unacceptable, Obama said. "America spends nearly 50 percent more per person on health care than any other country."

Of course, America has the best medical care and treatment facilities in the world, but we should aspire to have it as good as Canada! (Meanwhile Canadians are back-peddling as fast as they can to provide better options like the ones in America.)

The newly proposed $313 billion in savings, he said, "will come from commonsense changes."

It all sounds like perfect common sense, doesn't it? Well, if Obama says it is common sense, it must be!

He would cut $106 billion from payments that help hospitals treat uninsured people because his plan would cover nearly every American. Payments for Medicare prescription drugs would fall by $75 billion over 10 years.

Once again, very good common sense, he'll have money to cover every uninsured American by cutting the money he is spending on uninsured Americans now! Or is there something sinister in that little word "nearly"?

And slowing projected increases in Medicare payments to hospitals and other providers — but not doctors — would save $110 billion over 10 years, the president said. His budget director, Peter Orszag, said the reductions are justified because health care delivery is becoming more efficient.

Reduce pay to encourage better treatment! Perfect! Why didn't we think of it sooner?

But Orszag and Obama acknowledged that many details remain to be worked out. Obama said simply, "If the drugmakers pay their fair share, we can cut government spending on prescription drugs."

Once again, we'll trust him to work it out later. HE says SIMPLY it's the drugmakers' fault health care is so high, but his double-speak up to this point does not make it that simple.

A White House fact sheet said the pharmaceutical industry "has committed itself to helping to control the rate of growth in health care spending. There are a variety of ways to achieve this goal."

For instance, it said, drug reimbursements might be reduced for people who receive both Medicare and Medicaid.

But the pharmaceutical industry is politically powerful. Drugmakers have successfully resisted price controls in the Medicare prescription program so far, arguing that competition is enough to get elderly Americans a good deal.

Other government programs, however, such as Medicaid and the Veterans Affairs health system, may be paying less for many of the same drugs.

Billy Tauzin, president of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, issued a noncommittal statement.

"We remain committed to working with the administration and Congress to help enact comprehensive health care reform this year," he said. "A lot of work remains to be done, but we will continue to share ideas and seek solutions."

Lobbyists for hospitals, doctors and many other players also have clout in Washington, complicating Obama's mission.

Even if Obama and Congress could hit the overall goal of $948 billion in health care savings over 10 years, it still might not be enough to cover the nearly 50 million uninsured Americans. Outside experts say the 10-year cost could range from $1.2 trillion to $1.8 trillion, depending on factors such as how generous federal subsidies turn out to be. One Senate proposal would subsidize families making as much as $110,000.

The administration wants to hold the cost to about $1 trillion, and Obama says the plan must not add to the federal deficit.

And he's done such a great job of not adding to the federal deficit thus far, so we can trust him!

Orszag told reporters that $950 billion "is in the ballpark of many of the proposals floating around," and that "there may well be some additional resources that are necessary."

The administration will work with Congress, he said. But the president's earlier package of $635 billion in spending cuts and tax increases has gotten a cool reception from lawmakers, and there's no indication the latest package will fare any better.

I can't imagine why the cool reception. But leave it to the Transparent One to take to the campaign trail and convince the sheeple with hope and change!

Medical providers from hospitals to doctors to drug makers have agreed with Obama that there's enough waste in the system to cut $2 trillion over 10 years, but behind-the-scenes they are preparing to resist specific cuts.

I feel confident they'll ethically cut the waste, don't you? Rest assured that of the utmost importance is that tax payers pay for unlimited unrestricted abortions and that doctors are not allowed to conscientiously object!

I just DO NOT understand - not one person I talk to (either friends or strangers) cares what is happening to our beloved country, rights, freedoms!! I feel like I am banging my head against a cement iced-frozen wall!! My 5 children know more what is going on with Ovomit! Yes, I know the Lord is in control and already knew this was all going to happen. I am just tired of being a walking concusion high on coffee!

The only positive aspect of this situation is, as a family, we have deepened our family prayer time.
Thanks for the WONDERFUL posts!

I truly think there is a spiritual blindness and many people are simply not able to see. What seems so clear to us is completely foreign and unreasonable to them and they just can't see it. I think God has blessed this country for a long time, even after much of its wickedness with abortion and free love and kicking God out of school and the public square, etc., because it continued to bless Israel. But that is rapidly changing. God also hates the lukewarm, so I think even the people who say they are opposed to abortion and/or homosexual marriage, etc., like the people you talk about who just don't really care what goes on in the country as long as they can go about their selfish little business and are not personally inconvenienced, He is fed up with or wants to spew out of His mouth as the Bible says. I think because of the wickedness and because of the lukewarm, God finally just pulled back and let us have what we wanted or what we didn't care enough to fight against. You want your worldly king, here ya go! And boy, did we get the worst ever! While my family and I are more fortunate than you in that we are not so completely surrounded by people who can't see, I do have members of my own family who are green world-loving Obamabots, and it saddens me greatly that they cannot see the truth.

I read another good article; actually it was an email, so I can't link to it, but can copy it here. It's from Olive Tree Ministries, and although I'm not one who believes we will be raptured out before all tribulation prophecy comes to fruition, I think this email is head-on with regard to our focus and priorities now. I am sure our country is going down one way or another and that is sad, but there will still be salvations and good things happening in the midst of it. We're just in a different world now.

Well, the email was too long for this comment section, even when I tried to just copy excerpts, so I think I will post a blog post on it later today.

Thanks for your comments.
