Two different articles today give interesting insight into Obama's way of thinking of himself.
First from WND is the report of his removal of our Creator in his quote from the Declaration of Independence at a meeting of the Congressional Hispanic Congress: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, endowed with certain inalienable rights: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." Interesting. Endowed by whom? The actual quote is, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
Through the years, Obama has certainly shown his contempt for Christianity, God, Jesus, and the truth of the Bible, so leaving the Creator God out of his quote is par for the course for him. But there is another very interesting article from American Thinker regarding a different issue, an earlier interview with Obama, where he said some very interesting things, like his definition of sin: "Being out of alignment with my values." Very interesting! So Obama himself determines sin! And then when asked whether he prayed often, he said, "Uh, yeah, I guess I do. It's not formal, me getting on my knees. I think I have an ongoing conversation with God. I think throughout the day, I'm constantly asking myself questions about what I'm doing, why am I doing it." So he has an ongoing conversation with GOD, constantly asking HIMSELF questions about what he's doing and why he's doing it (seeing if it aligns with HIS values, or if it's sin, I suppose).
I guess that explains Obama's removal of Creator God from his "quote". God is certainly the creator of life which certainly begins in the womb, but if Obama determines sin, and therefore right and wrong, then he obviously had that prayer to himself and decided that abortion is not sin. Apparently, neither is leaving an innocent baby OUTSIDE THE WOMB to die on a shelf when it miraculously survived an abortion attempt! From our Creator God comes liberty and the pursuit of happiness, but in Obama's worldview, we have only limited liberty, that which government allows us to have!
Obama truly sees government as the one who endows us with those inalienable rights. I think there can be no dispute about that; that's his socialistic worldview. But it seems to go deeper than that. He actually thinks of himself as God! He determines sin and he prays to himself. He can't give the Creator God credit. If you remember, he couldn't even give a speech in the presence of the name of Jesus Christ; he had His name covered so he could speak! His actions are blatantly anti-Christ in nature and surely a product of Satan's lie.
It's a lie as old as time. Back in the Garden of Eden, Satan used the same lie that Eve could be as God if she would eat the forbidden fruit. It's the lie of some new-age religions now - we are our own gods! I've never figured out how that makes any sense! How can we all, as Obama thinks, determine sin by whether or not it aligns with our values? Although Obama may really think only HE determines it...but to those who would rationalize his way of thinking by agreeing that what's right is what aligns with our values, how, with a grain of common sense, can this be true? If YOUR values don't align with MY values, who's right? There HAS to be an absolute measure for values. And there is! Like it or not, there's only ONE WAY and only ONE TRUTH, and He is our rule for moral values. Sin is when our values don't align with God's moral values! Period.
There is only one way to know whether our values align with God's and that is to study His moral guide for us, His Holy Bible! In reality, we can never measure up. We can never be good enough! The Bible tells us that:
But we are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; we all fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. - Isaiah 64:6
But God gave us a way to cover our sins:
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. - John 3:16
Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?" - Matthew 16:24-26
And Jesus is the ONLY way!!
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. - John 14:6
