Well, the Obama speech came and went at Notre Dame. With his own lies and with the media backing him up, he tells us how rare he wants abortion to be, and that is where we can all agree! Alan Keyes, Norma McCorvey, and Catholic priests who were jailed for their pro-life stand and protest, are shown to be the radical fringe and Obama as the great orator peace-maker who just wants us all to get along! While he lies and gets a standing ovation! How can he truly want abortions to be RARE when he fast-tracked with one of his first acts as president to make abortions rampant worldwide or when he forces tax-payers to pay for forced abortions? FORCED abortions, get it? It means there will be MORE abortions than wanted!!! Also when he expands the use of embryos for research that has not proven one bit successful when we have ethical and very successful adult stem cell research? He is a liar; there can be no dispute! There is no other way to describe it! Oh, but his followers don't want you to have such disrespect for their president! I've had too much anger to write on this for a couple of days. The people who defend this mere man when he is so disrespectful to their Lord and Savior, like when he mocks scripture, when he covers symbols of Christ before he can speak on a stage, when he has such disdain for every Godly law and for those "bitter Bible clingers", make me absolutely crazy!!
I've had a lot of thoughts about this lately, and I try to always bring it back to God, for that is what is important now. That is where wisdom comes from, and the ONLY place it comes from, according to scripture!
For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
Proverbs 2:6
There is no wisdom or understanding or counsel against the LORD.
Proverbs 21:30
Although I am presently studying that I should steer clear of other "translations", I can't help but love this New Living translation of Romans 3:4, because it is so blunt and to the point:
Though everyone else in the world is a liar, God is true.
Romans 3:4
So wisdom and truth come only from God. Frankly, I think this country is doomed if it continues down its chosen path of hope and change! People put their hope for change in the wrong savior!! The country is doomed, but God is still working miracles in people's lives! As the lines are drawn deeper and more prominently in the sand, God's people are turning back to Him! I hear the liberal-all-their-lives-Obama-voters calling the conservative talk shows and saying they now see the light! That's what it's all about! That's the real reason we Christian conservatives protest as loudly as we do; it's really about bringing people back to God! When they come back to Him and His Word, He'll take care of the rest!
But lately, I had really begun to harden my heart a little against these people who want to accept Obama at his lying word without ever looking at his record or looking at any contradicting fact! They are happy to accept all he says and reject what their God says! For awhile I looked at them as victims, people who were lied to by a lying smooth talker offering them their hope and change and backed up by a lying deceitful media bent on making this guy's every move look like perfection and purposely hiding anything that detracts from it! It's not totally the ignorant people's fault. That's what I used to say, but why can so many of us find the truth? Why are so many of us open to hearing bad reports about people, even people we respect, because we want to know the truth? Why can so many of us look to our Bibles and know what is right, plain and simple? Everyone should be able to do the same thing, but so many are choosing NOT to! And that's where my heart began to harden. It's their choice! Everyone has the same opportunity! Now granted, with Obama's socialism, he is trying to take away opportunity! But that is for another post.
I believe the Holy Spirit has been working on me the past couple of days, because as always when God talks, He confirms it by two or three witnesses! That is confirmed by the Bible:
In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.
2 Corinthians 13:1b
Yesterday on Sean Hannity's radio program, when he was speaking to a former liberal who had changed his thoughts recently, the subject of guilt came up. Sean spoke about that guilt being a good thing because it showed the guy had a conscience and had it within him to know right from wrong. Then today on a Catholic radio program, the host refreshingly took it a step further when she discussed her recent debate with a pro-abortion advocate. She saw his argument that had been filled with name-calling as his fighting against the Holy Spirit Who was trying to convict him. He had no defense but to strike out, and she asked her listeners to pray for him! While she herself would not forsake telling the truth about the sanctity of life nor forsake her righteous anger at the president who lies about his position, she recognized this argumentative spirit as the spiritual battle it is! She reminded me:
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Ephesians 6:12
And this was truly amazing and refreshing and a lesson to me! First of all, it's amazing that I was even listening to a Catholic radio program. I'm sorry, but although I love and appreciate many of some Catholics' pro-life stands, I can't tolerate the Catholic doctrine. And I came to this conclusion as a former Catholic myself. There are some very serious doctrinal issues in my book such as the one straight from the Catholic doctrinal teachings that essentially says that Christ's work on the cross was not complete and that penance (works) is required of people. Also I find it offensive that we used to pray to Mary and the saints when we should only be praying to our Lord, the only one who can answer our prayers. Just like all the ceremonious rituals, candles, and idols of worship, etc. in the Catholic church, I think all these things detract from the deity of Jesus Christ and from a true relationship with Christ. And with all the ritualistic prayers, which the Bible told us NOT to do, how could there ever be any presence of the Holy Spirit in the Catholic Church?!
But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen [do]: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Matthew 6:7
As a friend of mine so bluntly put it to a Catholic friend of his who spoke about the Holy Spirit moving in her church, "So did the Holy Spirit tell you that the Catholic Church is dead wrong?", similarly, I felt about the church.
Well, enter this sweet Catholic lady with her strong righteous anger and conviction speaking of the Holy Spirit!! (And the miracle that I even listened to it!) And I was reminded that God is raising His people up from everywhere, from all walks of life, from all religious denominations. He tells us to come out and to follow Him!
Come out of her, my people...

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

A lot of people don't like that deny themselves part nor that take up your cross part, but I digress. This part is about MY lesson and I am reminded to soften my heart and to continue to pray and let the Holy Spirit do His work! It doesn't mean I have to soften my stand or compromise God's laws, but I do not need to harden my heart, for "there but by the grace of God go I", and that's where I was 20 years ago. Although I never personally believed in abortion, I can hear my little liberal self saying the government has no right to tell a woman what to do with HER body! *chills* I can hear my little ignorant self talking about how I couldn't believe a Bible that had been translated and re-translated by so many human beings! That coming from a person who had never bothered to read the Bible through completely. There, spiritually blinded and putting my faith and hope for change in a human president, a president who rejects everything God stands for, there but by the grace of God, go I! I DO believe people have been spiritually blinded and many couldn't see the truth when they voted for the man. I believe that this country's turning from God and His laws is reaching its fruition. It's back to the time of Samuel (1 Samuel, Chapter 8) when the people insisted on a king. Samuel told them all the horrible things a king would do (sound familiar like when we screamed about all the horrors of an Obama presidency?) and God Himself told Samuel they were rejecting Him, but the people insisted on their king! So God gave them their king!! God has given us what the majority of the people wanted! I personally don't know if I believe that a majority totally rejected God; I honestly believe there was enough ACORN cheating to put him into the presidency, but even that could be by design by God because of the lukewarm nation we had become, allowing the murder of millions of the most innocent to pollute our land and ignoring His warnings!
(In Joel, Chapter 3, many plagues are described)...because they have shed innocent blood in their land.
And shed innocent blood, [even] the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.

And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an example unto those that after should live ungodly...

So if God has hardened hearts to achieve His purposes, to turn the lukewarm back to Him...
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

God is still working as He always is, and even in this wicked time when He is being pushed to the outskirts, His Holy Spirit is calling to His people to come out. And that brings me to another thought that has plagued me for awhile. Remembering what the rest of that scripture in Revelation says:
And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
Revelation 18:4
That brings me back to my recent study in Revelation that had me thinking about America possibly being the subject of Revelation 18, quoting myself from July 2008:
"Recently, I came across these verses in Revelation 18:9-11:
And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come. And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:
Since there is no Babylon now, we have to assume this is a symbolic name for a place in existence now. For the first time, I saw the possibility of the US in that prophetic statement. What place on earth would cause all the world leaders to mourn at her demise? I have never given that a lot of thought. But it doesn't seem there would be too many. A few scriptures later in Rev. 18, it speaks of what a rich city she was and of the merchants who were made rich by her. Her own merchants were the great men on earth but by her sorceries all the nations were deceived. ALL the nations were deceived? What place has that much influence? I'm not sure I know the answer, but it certainly gives me pause for serious thought. The prophetic scriptures speak of a city, Babylon, but as Babylon may be symbolic, I wonder if 'city' is, too. What about the home of the U.N., the place that Mayor Bloomberg called the 'capital of the free world'? It makes me uneasy, especially knowing the audacity this country has in trouncing all over God's moral laws. 'How much she has glorified herself....' says Rev. 18:7. She is so wicked and she doesn't even see it. *sigh*"
Add to that the recent reminder that Reagan spoke of America as that "shining city on a hill" and boy, does America look more and more like that city Babylon! Now is time to come out of her, people! Do not partake of her sins!! So you receive not her plagues!!
