The CHANGE We HOPED For - To Be Like Cuba! Thanks, Obama! We Have Arrived!

Fidel Castro says it's a miracle! Obama has finally done what he himself was able to do in only 50 years. But, he says, we must pass climate change and immigration reform! Never fear, with Fidel Castro as one of his models, Obama's working as fast as his corrupt mouth and hands can!

People, please open your eyes and see where this is headed! Socialism has never worked! It leads to corrupt dictators every single time! And for people who fail to see that it is Socialism this administration wants, you need only look at the writings and speeches of practically every single person the president has surrounded himself with, including family, friends, and spiritual advisers, and most certainly the people in power!

But why are Americans blinded? Why can't they see? Jan Markell with Olive Tree Ministries has written an excellent article about the truth behind it all:

What Does It All Mean?

Even though Americans have been deluded, the Bible says God will give wisdom to those who ask for it. But we must remember that He gives us the desires of our hearts only when we ask for those things that He desires for us, good things that will make us grow and prosper! So when we diligently seek Him with all our hearts and ask for his wisdom, He will give it! But to know His wisdom, we must know His Word, so we must stay in His Word every day and we will not be deceived.

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. - James 1:5

You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. - James 4:3

Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. - Psalms 37:4-5

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. - Jeremiah 29:11

And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. - Jeremiah 29:13

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. - Colossians 3:16

The wise men are ashamed, They are dismayed and taken. Behold, they have rejected the word of the LORD; So what wisdom do they have? - Jeremiah 8:9

Alas, that is America's problem. She has rejected the Word of the Lord, so what wisdom can she have?

A communist government, a socialist government and democratic republic....a dictatorship. God places no greater value on one than the other. Government and economies may create religions but God never creates religions. The follower of God never allows these things to prevent the indwelling of God.
Yet, we see thousands of examples of these things creating discord, hate and separation among the supposed followers of God.
Do we love God with all our heart, soul, strength and mind and do we love our neighbor as ourselves?
OR DO WE LOVE partisan bickering, religious “one up man ship”, political warfare, and stirring discord in the less mature in our faith?

Actually, I agree partly with your first statement. Ever since God's people first begged for an earthly king rather than have Him as their king, they have asked for this mess. However, this country was very blessed in the beginning when our founders looked to HIM. They prayed constantly for his guidance while they were forming our government and God does indeed meet us where we are. So even if it is for a government, as long as we make Him Lord and seek His guidance, He does care! And actually, He does despise corrupt rulers that oppress the people and cause them to do evil (evil laws). He hates the shedding of innocent blood (abortion). So corrupt dictators would rank lower. The Old Testament is full of kings who "did evil in the sight of the Lord", and I have often imagined Obama in that language when I think of the evil he has perpetrated. He has pushed abortion further and more abroad than any other president - one of things God hates most. He is taking away inalienable God-given rights and then creating himself as the giver of rights, like making health care a right. He is lofty and proud and arrogant, other things the Lord detests, and he has on many occasions blasphemed the Word of God.

You are absolutely right that nothing can prevent the indwelling of the Holy Spirit of God. But frankly, I see your argument that these things create discord and separation as a trick of Satan to make people apathetic. Just like I know Satan loves "Thou shalt not judge" because to the undiscerning, he can trick them into "anything goes". Jesus Christ Himself said "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law." And God hates the lukewarm! He said He wants to spew the lukewarm out of His mouth. He would prefer we be either hot or cold; sounds like passion to me.

And by the way, it IS because we love our neighbors that we want them to see truth! Because as you said, nothing can prevent the indwelling of God's spirit and nothing can take salvation from a person who has accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, not even death! So it is not because of our fear of what a corrupt government will do to us, but it is a love for the deceived and the lost among us that makes Christians want to shed light. That is what we are called to do!

But actually, I have recently thought that some of the bickering on the conservative side - "this person isn't conservative enough" or "all republicans are as bad as democrats and should all be thrown out" or "we need a third party (which would only divide conservatives)" - is possibly by design. Prophecy is playing out and we aren't going to stop it. So sometimes I do see some of the squabbling as sort of a Tower of Babel scenario. But we are supposed to hate evil and we are not to grow weary and we are to persevere till the end, regardless. So in context of the whole Word of God, I have to disagree with your rationale that we should accept the status quo because we don't want discord. I don't think that flies.
